CORRK9U Retirees
Central Ohio Rescue/Recover K9 Unit would like to honor our K9 partners who have served our communities with honor. These K9s have retired and now return to living a life of luxury with their handlers.

K9 Zelig
Zelig is a German Shepherd who retired in April 2025 from the Central Ohio Rescue and Recovery K9 Unit (CORRK9U) due to health reasons. Zelig began his search and rescue career in 2018 as a Human Remains Detection (HRD) K9, dedicating more than seven years to service.
He was Handler Amy Jennings’ first SAR K9 and the perfect partner to begin that journey. Zelig taught Amy invaluable lessons about handling, teamwork, and trust, laying the foundation for her growth as a K9 handler.
In retirement, Zelig is thriving in a well-earned new role as a PR dog, hiking companion, and best friend to Flirt, a trailing dog with CORRK9U. His legacy of service and partnership continues to inspire our team.

K9 Zeke
Zeke began his Search & Rescue career in 2020 at just 3 years old and earned certification through the American Working Dog Association in 2022. Now 9 years old, Zeke is retiring due to arthritis in his hips, which makes searching large areas painful for him.
Great job, buddy—we’ve got it from here. Thank you for your dedication and service. Enjoy your well-earned life of leisure. πΎπ
